Even if I never do a Passive House I have learned concepts that are applicable to the way we build in the States. These are by and large basic concepts that apply to building practice everywhere, one way or another. The exam was hard, but pretty much on target with what I was taught in the PHA course. Everyone I spoke to who took the exam certainly felt challenged by it, but we expected to be. We don't know our results yet, but my opinion of training and test is not likely to change upon receiving them. I did not find the exam difficult to understand or ambiguous.
