Target Participants
This course is aimed at people who are currently unemployed with a background in the construction sector. It will suite those looking to work as building contractors and tradespersons on high performance building envelopes as well as designers and consultants looking to learn the practical skills required of building to the Passive House standard.
Duration
15 days of direct contact classroom and hands-on workshop training, from 8.30am to 3.45pm. The class runs for 3 consecutive weeks (Monday to Friday only)
Format
Combination of classroom lectures and presentations (about 50% of course) as well as practical work and experience in the Passive House building workshop.
Training Materials
High quality colour training manuals are provided at course commencement. All practical equipment and materials also provided in the workshop. Participants will need to bring their own safety boots/shoes and a pair of gloves for hand protection when handling some course materials. Access will also be provided to the optional on-line learning platform, including plenty of interactive test-preparation materials.
Class Size
Class size is typically 12 persons.
Theory Exam
The CPHT-BE theory exam is set by the International Passive House Institute and takes place all round the world on pre-determined dates per year. We have scheduled our training to coincide closely with the exam dates.
Course Accreditation
On successfully passing the exam, Participants will receive the internationally recognised accreditation as 'Certified Passive House Tradesperson - Building Envelope Specialist', joining a rapidly expanding global community.
