€450 including fully licensed version of the PHPP Version 9 programme including PHI's manual (VAT exempt)
€350 if you already own your own licensed version of PHPP 9 (VAT exempt)
This course is primarily aimed at building design professionals that have a good understanding of energy modelling for buildings. It would also suit graduates of the Certified Passive House Consultant / Designer program.
Three days of direct contact classroom training, from 9.00am to 5.00pm
Combination of presentations and demonstration by the class instructor (20% of the class) and hands-on application and practicing with the software (80%). The first two days are focused on entering a sample project in a step-by-step structured format, whereas the third day is reserved for free-style entering your own project with the guidance and support of the instructor. The third day is also used for advanced demonstration by the instructor including demonstration of the SketchUp based designPH plug-in for 3D modelling of Passive House Projects. The designPH programme is taught as part of a separate training programme by PHA.
A full copy of the PHPP software Version 9 and User Manual is provided on course commencement (if you don't already have your own licensed copy), as well as a colour copy of the instructor's presentation material. For those purchasing the software from us we will also send a sample PHPP file in advance to load on to your laptop and test that everything is working smoothly.
You will need your own fully operational laptop (Windows XP or later and a full working copy of Microsoft Excel) with its own power cable. Please make sure that you know how to use the laptop – you’d be surprised how many people turn up with a laptop that’s not their own and they spend half an hour just getting it going. If you already have your own copy of the PHPP software please bring it loaded and fully functioning (without problems). If you are purchasing the software as part of this event, make sure the sample file that we send you works on your laptop. Please also be sure to bring a scale ruler and calculator as well as pencils (different colours might be helpful) and a notepad. For the 3rd day of the course, bring along drawings of the project (in hard and soft copy) that you wish to model.
Class size is typically between 10 and 15 persons.
An attendance certificate for 21 hours will be provided at course completion which can be used towards your continuing professional development (CPD) requirements.
